Sometimes you need to get more body definition in a short amount of time so you must eat your necessary proteins and few extra calories. For no more than fourteen days, you can take in fewer calories from fat and carbs and lose weight quickly. If you want to lose weight fairly fast, you can eat a large number of chicken breasts and veggies. I would classify this as a plan to get ready for a trip or special event.

If I have a choice I like to eat primal for 2/3 of all meals.

Primal meals are made up of lots of proteins and good fats and have fewer carbs, and this is what I enjoy for meals Monday through Friday. It seems to be a good way to eat for me. Carbs tend to make me sleepy in the middle of the afternoon because my body reacts intensely to them. When carbs such as bread and potatoes are not available at meals, I lean toward consuming more fruits and veggies. On Saturdays and Sundays, I am not always able to follow the plan and I consume more high fat and high carb meals, much to my disappointment.

In conclusion, I believe that in order to drop weight you must discover the best way to consume fewer calories. What works for me, is eating fewer carbohydrates Monday through Friday and using two Eat Stop Eat style fasts until dinner each week, which permits me to consume more traditional meals on Saturdays and Sundays.
